Michael Candelori is a New York-based cinematographer who has been capturing visual media for nearly two decades. He has lensed six features including "The Premiere" which is set to debut at the 2024 Hamptons International Film Festival; as well as dozens of documentary and series projects, including "45 Mill Street" and "Death of a Pledge", both Emmy Award-winning films.
Michael produces and shoots purpose-driven digital campaigns for brands and non-profits. His collaboration with organizations including the AIDS Healthcare Foundation, African Education Program and Friends World Committee for Consultation supports fundraising and advocacy efforts.
An accomplished visual journalist, he has captured breaking news, editorial, and reportage images on five continents. His far-reaching coverage, with a particular focus on U.S. politics and social justice movements, has been featured by a cross-section of media including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Time, National Geographic, Vogue, Rolling Stone, Esquire, Playboy, Variety, Sports Illustrated, Vice and Axios.
Michael is a member of the Society of Camera Operators and the National Press Photographers Association. He earned an M.F.A. in Film Production from the Dodge College of Film and Media Arts at Chapman University, where he was selected twice for the Panavision New Filmmaker Program.
